Disabled Youth Board

The Disabled Youth Board is for Disabled young people aged 16-25 who want to shape change in their communities. The Board meets a few times a year, supported by Action on Disability, to influence AoD’s work, local youth provision, and wider programmes across the borough.

Members work together to identify barriers faced by Disabled young people, share lived experiences, and develop practical solutions that promote equality, access, and independent living. The Board also collaborates with local organisations and decision-makers to ensure young Disabled voices are heard and acted upon.

Youth Inclusion Charter

In December 2024, the AoD Youth Board launched the Youth Inclusion Charter – a commitment to improving access, participation, and opportunities for Disabled young people. The Charter was supported by Hammersmith & Fulham Council, Young H&F Foundation, H&F Youth Council, and Action on Disability.

The training supports young people to explore key themes, share their lived experiences, and identify the barriers that need to change to build a more inclusive world. It highlights their voices, their ideas, and the importance of involving Disabled young people in decisions that affect their lives.
