Supported Internship

We run Supported Internships for Disabled people aged 16-24 who have an Educational, Health and Care Plan (EHCP).

Over the past five years (most recent record: 2024/25), our interns achieved an average job success rate of 76.8%.

We’re proud that, in the last 15 years, we have supported 347 Disabled young people to gain transferable skills in real work placements with top businesses, hotels, hospitals and other organisations – leading many into employment.

How the Supported Internship Works

Working alongside educational tutors, we monitor each intern’s progress and set clear targets to help them achieve their goals. Every intern benefits from:

  • A dedicated Supported Employment Coordinator (Job Coach)
  • 3 matched work placements across the academic year
  • A personalised support plan to build confidence and independence
  • Mentor training in every placement
  • Continuous support, training, advice, and guidance from educational tutors

Our Past Supported Internship Programmes
