Follow Up Project

Our Follow Up Project provides personalised support for graduates of AoD’s Supported Internships. A dedicated Project Coordinator works closely with partner employers, job coaches, and tutors to help each graduate take their next steps into work or volunteering.

We support graduates in a range of ways, including:

  • Interview practice, travel training, CV writing, and group activities with role play and guest speakers
  • Applying and preparing for work or volunteer opportunities, including negotiating reasonable adjustments and completing Access to Work applications
  • Job Club – a peer-support space where graduates can share experiences, encourage one another, and work on applications together.

Graduate Stories

A person wearing a yellow safety vest stands in a warehouse, holding a bunch of bananas near a green crate filled with bananas. Large boxes and plastic bins are stacked in the background.

“I heard Alex did well at the mock interviews today. This is great news and a real milestone leap for him. He’s been desperately lacking in interview skills and this session – as with all the Job Club sessions – has improved his self-esteem and confidence.

I think Job Club is critical to the follow-on support for the internship graduates, as without it Alex would have been lost and very demotivated. He now seems to have a much more positive mindset.

Alex was introduced to City Harvest for volunteer work which he is clearly enjoying. He’s learned some life skills and become more confident in his dealings with people around him. He has improved his teamwork, collaboration and understanding of following instructions. Thank you for the continuing support.”
