Centre for Independent Living

This is a historic milestone for Action on Disability. After 42 years of moving between different sites across the borough, we finally have a permanent home.

Action on Disability (formerly Hammersmith & Fulham Action on Disability – HAFAD) spent many years at the Greswell Centre in Fulham before relocating to temporary premises at Normand Croft Community School. During this time, we worked closely with the London Borough of Hammersmith & Fulham (LBHF) to secure a long-term base for our services.

In partnership with Shepherds Bush Housing Association, the site of a former housing office at Clem Attlee Court was redeveloped into a purpose-built, fully accessible ground-floor Centre with 40 flats above.

Thanks to the support of LBHF and a successful five-year capital fundraising campaign, AoD secured this new Centre on a 250-year lease. In August 2022, we proudly moved into our permanent home.
